Celebrating Student Success: The OTSU Academic Excellence Awards
The Ontario Tech Student Union (OTSU) is proud to announce the Academic Excellence Awards — a new award recognizing students who go above and beyond in their academic journey.
This year, we’re giving away four awards totalling $1,000:
- Two International Student Awards – valued at $300 each
- Two Domestic Student Awards – valued at $200 each
These awards are more than just about grades. Academic excellence is about curiosity, perseverance, and impact, whether that’s through strong academic performance, innovative projects, research involvement, or meaningful contributions to the classroom and community. We’re looking for students who demonstrate a passion for learning and a commitment to making the most of their Ontario Tech experience.
How to Apply
Students must self-nominate by completing a short application form, which includes:
- Your GPA and academic details
- A personal statement outlining how you embody academic excellence, whether that's study habits and leadership roles to volunteer work, tutoring, mentorship, or any initiative you feel exemplifies your work.
All applicants must be returning students in good standing.
The application deadline is October 20, and recipients will be announced on October 27.
If you have any questions or need support with your application, please reach out to president.otsu@ontariotechu.ca .
Because academic excellence isn’t just about achieving — it’s about inspiring others to do the same.
Good Luck!
