Wanted: Really Good Gamers. Tryout for Our Esports Teams
We’re looking for people who are lowkey obsessed with stacking W’s. If you’re excited to reach your pull potential, are a good team player, and enjoy taking your skills to the next level, then you should definitely come to tryouts! We have varsity teams in the following games:
- Call of Duty
- League of Legends
- Rocket League
- Valorant
- Valorant Gamechangers
If you’re a ranked player, or if you’ve just gotten really good on your own and think you have the chops to keep up with the best at Ontario Tech, register for one of our tryouts (or two, if you play more than one game)! You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. If nothing else, you'll get to meet some cool people and get involved with a community you vibe with!
About Varsity Competition

All of our teams play in the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC), a league that works with over 400 colleges and universities throughout North America. Starting in the 2020-21 academic year, NECC has become a proving ground for the top players at the post-secondary level. Players in this league have gone on to have full-time professional gaming careers.
About OTSU Esports
The OTSU Esports community is a collective of casual and competitive gamers, but our award-winning variety teams go hard. They compete at the international level, playing against top colleges and universities across North America, and have won several titles, including:
- League of Legends NECC Division 3, East Playoffs Champions 2025
- League of Legends NECC Challengers Division champions, Winter 2024
- Rocket League NECC Challengers Division champions, Winter 2024
We’ve made it far in Valorant and other games, but need that key player to take us to the next level. Is that player you? Also, for team practices and collegiate match ups, we have a dedicated esports arena in Shawenjigewining Hall, boasting 12 machines with the top specs—we actually just upgraded to 240Hz monitors this past month!
So what are you waiting for?? We have to have our teams finalized in the next few weeks. Hit that register button and take the next step in developing your skills. Can’t wait to meet you!
