Longer-term trajectory
Impressively, since 2017, Ontario Tech’s national reputational ranking has jumped from No. 11 to No. 1.
The Maclean’s data further affirms the university’s wide-ranging quality as one of Canada’s youngest research-intensive universities, placing No. 7 nationally in the ‘overall/combined’ category, up one spot over last year. Also, as part of a positive longer-term trend since 2012, Ontario Tech has moved up in the overall rankings from No. 15 to this year’s No. 7.
Thanks to Ontario Tech’s strength in experiential- and work-integrated learning opportunities, the university’s growth in applications continues to outpace the provincial system average. As a university where career-minded students want to be, Ontario Tech attracts employers in various sectors, as well as many partners in industry that seek connections to the university’s unique research environment and commitment to developing the innovation leaders of tomorrow.
