Ontario Tech earns tight victory at Carleton
OTTAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's hockey team earned a hard-fought 2–1 road win over the Carleton Ravens on Friday night in Ottawa.
Nathan Poole opened the scoring midway through the first period, finishing a setup from Gabriel Bernier and Alex Papaspyropoulos to give the Ridgebacks a 1–0 lead after 20 minutes.
Early in the second, Alex Drover doubled the advantage with what stood as the game-winner at 2:20, assisted by Justin Svenson and Duston Hutton. Carleton's Masen Culley cut the deficit to one late in the frame, but Ontario Tech held strong defensively the rest of the way to seal the victory.
The Ridgebacks outshot the Ravens 25–20. Goaltender Beckett Langkow made 19 saves for the win, while Tye Austin stopped 23 shots for Carleton.
Ontario Tech will finish up their weekend with a stop in Montreal, Que., to take on the Concordia Stingers tomorrow at 5 p.m.
