Cook with Amanpreet: Choco Chaca Smoothie

Craving something sweet without that sugar crash, then you need to make this smoothie!

After trying the Coca Maca smoothie at Refuel Juicery at Vaughan Mills I knew I had to find a solution to satisfying my sweet tooth this summer without spending $10! I am happy to say I did...hehe!

This smoothie recipe is so, so simple, and yet so delicious, refreshing, and healthy while also serving as a sweet tooth satisfier. If you are a chocolate lover then please I am practically begging you to give this a shot. Best of all, I’m calling it the “Choco Chaca”; not too shabby eh?

Here’s what you will need:

  • 1-2 tablespoons of Cocoa Powder
  • Half a banana
  • Ice cubes
  • Honey to taste
  • 1-1.5 cups of almond milk
  • ½ tablespoon of almond butter (or more if you prefer something butterier)

Throw all of the above into a blender and BLEND.

Within 1-2 minutes, you have yourself a creamy, chocolatey, smooth, refreshing smoothie that doesn’t break the bank and satisfies that sweet tooth. What’s incredible is that although the smoothie is chocolatey, it is also light in that it doesn’t give you that groggy, sugar spike and dip that leaves you feeling lethargic. It’s definitely a great substitute for bakery desserts and healthier as you're getting your good fats, potassium, and vitamin B and again such a lovely dessert option.

Now what are you waiting for? Go try it out, you will thank me later!
