Shopping Online: My Money Saving Tips

Unlock the secrets to saving money while indulging in your love for online shopping! Join me as I reveal the top insider tips.

Shopping online has become one of my favourite hobbies. Ever since COVID hit, it has become the new trend, and honestly, who has the energy to leave the house anymore? Besides, there's nothing quite like the excitement of receiving a package at your doorstep—it's the highlight of my month. I adore online shopping because once you order and pay for it, the difficult part is done. The best part is eagerly waiting for the package to arrive; when it finally does, it's amazing.

Being a student, saving money is incredibly important, especially since most of us are broke right now. That's why I'm here to share my top money-saving tips for online shopping that work every time!

1. Check different websites for the same items

Often you can find the same items or something similar on different websites. Some of them will be cheaper than others so check your sources!

2. Use Honey

I discovered Honey through YouTube ads, and ever since I started using it, I never looked back. This Google extension automatically applies coupon codes during the checkout process, saving you both time and money. It's a convenient alternative to manually searching for coupons online.

3. Use Points/ Reward Systems

A lot of companies/websites have reward systems where you accumulate points which can be redeemed as credits in your account. Often time you can get points by leaving reviews or daily check-ins. This is a great way to save money with little to no effort.

4. Abandon Your Cart

Sometimes, retailers may send you a discount code or offer a better deal if you add items to your cart and leave them there for a while. This technique is known as "cart abandonment."

5. Use Price Tracking Tools

Installing browser extensions like PriceBlink, which tracks the price history of products, can help you decide if the current price is a good deal or if you should wait for a price drop.
