TORONTO, Ont. –  Julia Listro's journey in soccer has come full circle. From growing up in a soccer-loving family to playing at a high level with the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks, she has always been deeply connected to the game. Now, she embarks on a new adventure, stepping into a role as Toronto FC's Social Content Coordinator—a move that perfectly blends her passion for soccer with her marketing expertise.

Listro's path to Toronto FC was built on a foundation of hard work and dedication. Over the past year and a half, she honed her skills at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) as an Account Coordinator in the ticketing department, managing season ticket holder accounts for TFC. While she enjoyed building relationships in that role, she always had a keen interest in marketing and social media. When the opportunity arose to transition into a social media position with TFC, she seized it.

"For me, soccer has always been a part of my life," Listro said. "Whether through playing or finding a career in the sport, I knew I wanted to stay involved. I grew up attending TFC games with friends, and I even remember telling my former Ridgeback coaches after graduation that I wanted to work for the club. It's surreal that now, just a few years later, I'm here."

Her time with the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks played a key role in preparing her for this moment. As a student-athlete, Listro not only developed her skills on the field but also embraced leadership as a team captain. Listro was also a regular starter throughout her four years with the Ridgebacks who appeared in four playoff games. The experience taught her valuable lessons in communication, teamwork, and perseverance—traits that now help her navigate the fast-paced world of professional sports marketing.

"Ontario Tech provided a welcoming environment that encouraged personal growth," she reflected. "Being a Ridgeback taught me so much, and I'm incredibly grateful that I get to continue working alongside my former coaches, David Monsalve and Arman Mohammadi, who are now with TFC's coaching staff."

As she steps into her new role, Listro is excited to contribute to the club's digital presence, bringing her passion for the game to TFC's ever-growing fanbase. Her advice to aspiring Ridgebacks looking to break into the industry? Stay committed, network, and take on new challenges.

With her love for soccer and an eye for marketing, Julia Listro is ready to make an impact at Toronto FC—continuing her journey in the game that has shaped her life.
