Ridgebacks bolster back line with signing of Zoe Abraham
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks women's soccer program has announced the commitment of Zoe Abraham, a dynamic wing back from Kitchener, Ont., ahead of the 2026 season.
Abraham joins the Ridgebacks following an accomplished youth career competing in the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL), most recently with Waterloo BVB IA. She brings versatility, technical quality, and a strong two-way presence to Ontario Tech's back line.
The Kitchener native spent three seasons with Waterloo BVB IA OPDL from 2023 to 2025, where she helped the club capture an OPDL Cup championship. Her development included international experience as part of BVB's School of Excellence program, where she competed in Germany, along with being named a BVB North America Regional Player. Abraham also claimed a Copa Jordi tournament title during her youth career.
Prior to her time with Waterloo BVB, Abraham competed with Cambridge United OPDL from 2020 to 2022, serving as a team captain and continuing to develop her defensive instincts and leadership qualities.
Off the pitch, Abraham will study Energy Engineering at Ontario Tech, continuing the program's tradition of recruiting high-achieving student-athletes who excel in both academics and competition.
"Zoe's a dynamic wing back with the vision and technical ability to progress play and break lines," said Ontario Tech head coach Audra Sherman. "She's impactful on both sides of the ball, confident in one-on-one situations with a relentless work rate."
