Davidson lifts Ridgebacks past Carleton with overtime winner
OTTAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's hockey team picked up a hard-fought 2–1 overtime victory over the Carleton Ravens on Saturday afternoon, earning the extra point in a tightly contested matchup at the Ice House.
After a scoreless first two periods, Carleton opened the scoring midway through the third period on the power play to break the deadlock. The Ridgebacks answered later in the frame, as Cassandra Delves found the back of the net to draw Ontario Tech level and send the game to overtime.
In the extra period, Julianne Davidson delivered the winner at 6:37, sealing the game for the Ridgebacks.
Zoe McGee started in net for Ontario Tech and made 38 saves on the night. The game also marked a milestone moment for Milana Perri, who skated in her 100th career game as a Ridgeback.
Ontario Tech returns to action on Thursday, February 12, when the Ridgebacks travel to Waterloo, Ont. to face the Laurier Golden Hawks.
