ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — The Ontario Tech women's hockey team wrapped up their weekend road trip with a 6-0 loss to the Brock Badgers on Saturday night.
Ontario Tech goaltender Zoe McGee faced heavy pressure early, making 16 saves before being replaced by Ariella Merlino midway through the game. The Ridgebacks' penalty troubles compounded their struggles, as they racked up 30 minutes in penalties, including two misconducts in the third period.
Brock opened the scoring in the first period before pulling away with four goals in the second, including a shorthanded marker by Catriona Cormier. The Badgers added one more in the final frame to seal the shutout win.
The Ridgebacks women's hockey team will be back in Oshawa on Friday, February 7 when they take on the TMU Bold at 7 p.m.
