Connors and Bernier named Ontario Tech athletes of the week
OSHAWA, Ont. – Jordanna Connors of women's hockey and Gabriel Bernier of men's hockey have been named Ontario Tech athletes of the week for the period ending on Sunday, October 20.
Connors, a third-year Liberal Studies major, had an outstanding game against the 3-0 win over the Western Mustangs, picking up a goal and an assist in the Ridgebacks' first win of the year.
Bernier, a third-year Communication & Digital Media Studies major, helped the Ridgebacks men's hockey team pick up their fifth straight win on Saturday night in a 6-1 victory over the visiting RMC Paladins. Bernier recorded two goals and two assists that night and currently has six points on the season.
The Ridgebacks women's hockey team will be in action at the Campus Ice Centre on Saturday, October 26, taking on the 2-1 Laurier Golden Hawks. The men's hockey team is taking a trip to take on the 4-0 Guelph Gryphons on Friday, October 25, but will return home on Sunday, October 27, when the Windsor Lancers come to campus.
