Ridgebacks fall short of come back at home
OSHAWA, Ont. – Ontario Tech Ridgebacks fell short in a close match against the Waterloo Warriors, with a final score of 6-5.
Waterloo opened the game with two goals in the first period. The Ridgebacks responded in the second period, netting three goals, including two power-play scores from Robyn Storey and Milana Perri. Despite their efforts, Waterloo maintained the lead by capitalizing on power plays and short-handed opportunities, scoring four goals in the second period alone.
Ontario Tech's Baie Marcantonio and Storey added goals in the third period as penalties began to mount for both teams, but the Ridgebacks could not close the gap in the final minutes.
Ridgebacks goaltender Zoe McGee made 26 saves, while her counterpart Kara Mark stopped 39 shots.
The Ridgebacks will be back in action at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre next week with match ups against the Western Mustangs on Friday, November 1 at 4 p.m. and the Windsor Lancers on Saturday, November 2.
