Connors nets pair, but Windsor holds off Ridgebacks
WINDSOR, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's hockey team dropped a 4–3 decision to the Windsor Lancers on Friday, January 9, in a tightly contested road matchup.
Windsor opened the scoring early in the first period before Jordanna Connors answered at 18:26 to send the teams into the intermission tied 1–1. After the Lancers took a brief lead midway through the second, Ontario Tech responded again late in the frame as Hermer finished a play set up by Zoe Wilson and Julia Jackson to make it 3–2 heading into the third.
The Lancers restored their advantage at 7:23 of the final period, and Connors brought the Ridgebacks within one with her second of the night at 15:05, but Ontario Tech was unable to find the equalizer down the stretch.
Zoe McGee turned aside 34 shots in goal for the Ridgebacks, while Ontario Tech was outshot 38–26 overall.
The Ridgebacks will be back on the road on Thursday, January 15 at 11 a.m. when they take on the Toronto Varsity Blues.
