Dickson brings defence to Ridgebacks
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's hockey program is happy to announce the addition of Ella Dickson to the 2024-25 recruiting class.
The defender is joining the Ridgebacks after playing for the Ottawa Jr 67's last year and the East Ottawa Stars the year prior. She amassed a 78-1-0 record with the Nepean Wildcats, with the team winning every tournament they played, including provincials. During Dickson's time with Cornwall Typhoons, she scored the game-winning goal with 5.7 seconds left to secure a bronze medal for her team.
"We are pleased to announce the addition of Ella to our program. Ella is a strong passer with great vision and efficiently joins rushes to contribute to offensive opportunities," says women's hockey head coach Kassidy Nauboris. "Her grit and playmaking abilities can be seen at both ends of the ice."
Dickson says that her biggest athletic thrill was winning provincials with the Nepean Wildcats, where she was able to bond with her teammates in a high-pressure environment, something she says she will always be grateful for.
Dickson will enroll in Kinesiology this fall as she joins the women's hockey defensive group.
