OTTAWA, Ont. – The Carleton Raven's power play proved too much for Ontario Tech on Friday, as the Ridgebacks fell 5-2 at Carleton Ice House.
Ontario Tech opened the scoring at 5:29 of the first period when Erin Lawless found the back of the net. The Ridgebacks held onto the lead until the second period, but Carleton responded with two even-strength goals from Victoria Kay and Nicole Hunter to take a 2-1 advantage into the final frame.
The Ravens capitalized on special teams in the third, scoring twice on the power play. Justina Beard and Sydney Berta both converted with the extra skater, extending Carleton's lead. Julia Jackson pulled one back for Ontario Tech, but Anya Misner sealed the win for the Ravens with a late goal.
Ontario Tech goaltender Zoe McGee made 46 saves in the loss.
The Ridgebacks wrap up their regular season tomorrow with a match up against the Ottawa Gee-Gees.
