Barnet and Baker named Ontario Tech athletes of the week
OSHAWA, Ont. – Adra Barnet (Winnipeg, Man.) of women's basketball and Keon Baker (Pickering, Ont.) of men's basketball have been named Ontario Tech student-athletes of the week for the period ending on February 11.
Barnet, a first-year Health Physics and Radiation Science student, is picking up her first student-athlete of the week nod after an outstanding game against Lakehead, where she had 13 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and a steal.
Baker, a third-year Liberal Studies student, has been a frequent winner of the award this season as the men's basketball team is in the middle of a program-best year. This weekend, he helped the Ridgebacks complete a comeback on the road against Lakehead to win 85-79. Baker stuffed the stat sheet with 26 points, nine rebounds, four steals, three assists, and a block.
Both the men's and women's basketball teams are back at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre this week, starting with a match-up with the Carleton Ravens on Friday, February 16, at 6/8 p.m. followed by hosting the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Saturday, February 17 at 4/6 p.m. where they will honour their graduating seniors.
