Ridgebacks fall to Carleton on the road
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's basketball team dropped a 56–39 decision to the Carleton Ravens on Saturday, January 10, at the Ravens' Nest.
Kaleah Gosse led Ontario Tech with 10 points, shooting 2-for-2 from beyond the arc, while Elliot Cowan added eight points, including a pair of three-pointers. Adra Barnet chipped in seven points off the bench, going 4-for-6 at the free-throw line.
Defensively, Ayat Weber pulled down a team-high seven rebounds, while Quincy Okubasu added five boards and two blocks in 31 minutes of action.
Carleton was paced by Kyana-Jade Poulin, who scored a game-high 18 points, while Jacqueline Urban posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. The Ravens out-rebounded Ontario Tech 49–33 and limited the Ridgebacks to 22.8 per cent shooting from the field.
The Ridgebacks return home to the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre next weekend, opening with Academic Excellence Night against the York Lions on Friday, January 16, at 6 p.m.
