Gosse and Baker named Ontario Tech athletes of the week
OSHAWA, Ont. – Keon Baker of men's basketball and Kaleah Gosse of women's basketball have been named Ontario Tech athletes of the week for the period ending on November 24.
Baker of the men's basketball team led the team this past weekend after splitting two games against Lakehead and Toronto. The weekend's first game came in a loss against the unbeaten Thunderwolves; this game saw Baker lead all scorers, totaling 24 points. The second game of the weekend saw the Ridgebacks beat the Varsity Blues and break a three-game losing streak. Baker scored 18 points and grabbed three boards in the victory against Toronto.
Gosse, a health science student, led the Ontario Tech women's basketball team to their first win of the season against the Toronto Blues. Gosse dominated the game, finishing with 20 points, including seven field goal shots and two clutch three-pointers.
The Ridgebacks basketball teams will next face the Guelph Gryphons on the road this Friday, November 29.
