Ridgebacks add rebounding presence Stuckey to roster
OSHAWA, Ont. - The Ridgebacks women's basketball program is pleased to announce the recruitment of small forward Isabella Stuckey from Springfield, Mo.
Stuckey joins Ontario Tech from Essa Prep where she led her team in scoring. This past season she was named a third team OSBA all-star and led the league in rebounds per game averaging 14.
The five-foot-ten forward had seven games last season where she grabbed at least 15 rebounds with her best game of the season coming against Bill Crothers where she scored 19 points and added 16 boards.
Stuckey says she joined the Ridgebacks because she knew this would be a place where she felt welcomed and could see herself developing as a basketball player. Adds Stuckey, " the culture is something that strongly drew me to this school and was ultimately the deciding factor for me."
"We are thrilled to be adding Bella to our program ahead of the 2024 season," says head coach Megan Grant. "Bella has excellent tracking ability off the rim and is a relentless presence on the boards. She is going to provide us with second chance opportunities on the offensive end while helping to secure the defensive glass."
Stuckey will be enrolling in Psychology this fall and joins previously announced recruits Ayat Weber (Montreal, Que.), Grace Dixon (Pickering, Ont.) and Quincy Okubasu (Toronto, Ont.) for the 2024-25 season.
