OSHAWA, Ont. — The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks marked Shoot for the Cure night at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre, battling through a tightly contested first half before falling 63–51 to the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday, January 17.
Ontario Tech led 12–9 after the opening quarter and remained in front at the break, taking a 24–22 advantage into halftime. The Ridgebacks set the tone defensively early, limiting Guelph's shooting and controlling the pace through the first 20 minutes.
The Gryphons swung momentum in the third quarter, outscoring Ontario Tech 29–2 to build separation. Despite a strong response in the fourth, where the Ridgebacks put up 25 points, the second-half surge proved decisive.
Brianna Morrison led Ontario Tech with 12 points and eight rebounds, while Elliot Cowan added 11 points. Adra Barnet chipped in eight points and four rebounds as the Ridgebacks showed resilience late.
