Ridgebacks' late push falls just short in North Bay

Ontario Tech's late push wasn't enough to overcome Nipissing in a tight 67-63 loss Saturday night at RJS.

NORTH BAY, Ont. – Ontario Tech's late push wasn't enough to overcome the Nipissing Lakers in a tight 67-63 loss Saturday night at RJS.

Adra Barnet led the Ridgebacks with 14 points, knocking down two three-pointers and shooting 5-for-11 from the field. Isabella Stuckey added 12 points and five rebounds, while Kaleah Gosse contributed 11 points and a game-high seven steals. Quincy Okubasu chipped in with 10 points and three assists.

Ontario Tech started strong, holding an early lead in the first quarter before Nipissing responded to take control. The Lakers' 22-point third quarter created separation, and despite a 20-point final frame from the Ridgebacks, they couldn't complete the comeback.

The Ridgebacks wrap up the season at home next week when they take on the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Friday, February 14 at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
