Gosse named to OUA All-Rookie team
OSHAWA, Ont. – Ridgebacks women's basketball standout, Kaleah Gosse, (Toronto, Ont.) has been acknowledged as a member of the OUA All-Rookie Team after a spectacular 2024-25 season.
"We are very proud of Kaleah and all that she has achieved this season," said head coach Megan Grant. "As a first year, she was able to step-in and take on a big role for us this season and we are excited to watch her future development."
Gosse led the Ridgebacks in points per game with 11.6. Playing in all 22 games, with a total of 28.6 minutes per game, she ranked 23rd in the OUA. She also was able to be a massive factor on the defensive side of the ball with 70 steals, ranking fourth across the OUA.
The Toronto, Ont. native had several big games for the Ridgebacks, including a season high 23 points agains the Western Mustangs on November 1. She also stuffed the stat sheet on February 8 when the Ridgebacks took on the Nipissing Lakers. Gosse finished with 11 points, seven steals and six rebounds.
"With lots of rookies on our team this year, Kaleah shined at the university level," said Ridgebacks forward Adra Barnet. "She adapted to the fast pace and immediately made an impact on our team's offence. As a rookie, she came in confident in her abilities and ready to play. Her game speaks volumes for her, and I cannot think of a more deserving rookie."
