Mohammadi and Blake-Jackson named athletes of the week
OSHAWA, Ont. – Ashkaun Mohammadi of men's soccer and Jazmyn Blake-Jackson of women's soccer have been named Ontario Tech athletes of the week for the period ending on Sunday, September 28.
Blake-Jackson was an anchor for the Ridgebacks' defence this weekend, playing a full 90 minutes against Nipissing and Laurentian while registering a shot on goal in Ontario Tech's 3-1 victory over the Voyageurs.
Mohammadi and the Ridgebacks ended OUA Anti-Racism Awareness Week with a 2-1 win over the Queen's Gaels at Vaso's Field on Thursday. Mohammadi picked up his first OUA goal with a goal-of-the-year candidate in the 13th minute of the game. He also played 90 minutes, recording two shots on goal in the Ridgebacks' 2-2 draw at Laurentian.
The Ridgebacks soccer teams will have one final home game on Saturday, October 4, against the RMC Paladins, when they will honour their graduating seniors at 1 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.
