Richards comes home with men's basketball
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's basketball program is happy to announce the addition of guard TJ Richards to the 2025-26 recruiting class.
"I'm thrilled to welcome TJ Richards to the Ontario Tech men's basketball program," said Ridgebacks Head Coach, Deluxshan Pathmanathan. "I've had the privilege of watching TJ grow over the years—not just as an athlete, but as a person. He leads with accountability and treats those around him with genuine respect. I have no doubt he'll bring leadership, heart, and toughness to our program."
The Whitby, Ont. native attended Royal Crown where he made an impact on both ends of the floor as a six-foot-five guard, using his frame to cut to the rim, and wingspan to contribute defensively. Royal Crown picked up the NPA National Championship this year with an 89-83 win over Edge Prep, and Richards went on to lead the Mississauga Monarchs Elite on the MADE Hoops Circuit. He was also invited to participate in the NBA Academy games this month.
"I'm super excited to be joining the Ontario Tech men's basketball program and committing to my home school," said Richards. "I've had a great relationship with Coach Deluxshan since the early stages of my basketball career, and I'm looking forward to entering this new chapter. Go Ridgebacks!"
