Men's hockey continue win-streak in Guelph
GUELPH, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks continued their impressive run, skating to a commanding 4-1 win against the Guelph Gryphons on the road.
Despite an early power-play goal from Guelph's Nathan Allensen, the Ridgebacks stayed resilient. Ontario Tech's Gabriel Bernier answered back quickly, leveling the score before the end of the opening frame.
In the second period, Matt Wisener broke the tie, sliding one past Guelph's goalie to put the Ridgebacks ahead 2-1. Ontario Tech further extended their lead in the third, as Ludovic Dufort found the back of the net to make it 3-1. Guelph pulled their goalie in a final push, but Cullen McLean capitalized with an empty-netter to seal the game at 4-1.
Ontario Tech outshot Guelph 34-29, with Ridgebacks' goaltender William Desmarais coming up big with 28 saves.
The Ridgebacks will return back to the Campus Ice Centre on Sunday when they take on the Windsor Lancers at 2 p.m.
