Langkow records first OUA shutout

The red hot Ontario Tech Ridgebacks blanked the Windsor Lancers 2-0 on Sunday in their return home to the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.

OSHAWA, Ont. – The red hot Ontario Tech Ridgebacks blanked the Windsor Lancers 2-0 on Sunday in their return home to the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.

Kyle Leonard opened the scoring late in the second period, netting an even-strength goal with assists from Alex Drover and Baxter Anderson at 16:48. Ontario Tech extended their lead in the third period when Gabriel Bernier capitalized on a power play at 13:54, assisted by Justin Svenson and Antoine Desrochers.

Ridgebacks goalie Beckett Langkow was steady in net, turning aside all 27 shots for the shutout.

The Ridgebacks improve to 7-1-0 with the win, and are currently tied with the Concordia Stingers and Queen's Gaels for first place in the OUA East division.

Ontario Tech heads back out on to the road for a home-and-home match up with the York Lions starting on November 1.
