Ridgebacks extend win streak to five games

The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks men's hockey team extended their winning strike to five games with a 6-1 victory over the RMC Paladins on Saturday night at the Campus Ice Centre.

OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks men's hockey team extended their winning strike to five games with a 6-1 victory over the RMC Paladins on Saturday night at the Campus Ice Centre.

Gabriel Bernier led the Ridgebacks with two goals and two assists, including a power-play marker at 6:41 of the second period. Ontario Tech's power play was lethal, converting three times in the middle frame to pull away. Braiden Koran, Antoine Desrochers, William Robinson, and Matt Wisener also scored for the home side.

Goaltender William Desmarais made 16 saves to secure the win for the Ridgebacks, who outshot RMC 30-17.

The Paladins' lone goal came from Ethan Kearney at 14:56 of the third period.

With the win, the Ridgebacks improved their record to 5-1 on the season, and are currently tied for the top spot in the OUA East.

The Ridgebacks will head back out on the road for their next game when they take on the Guelph Gryphons on Friday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m.
