Brock take Ridgebacks to shootout
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks battled hard but came up just short, falling 3-2 in a nail-biting shootout loss to the Brock Badgers on Thursday night.
The Ridgebacks started strong, with Antoine Desrochers netting the game's first goal at 14:30 in the opening period, assisted by Cullen McLean and Andrew Suriyuth. In the second period, McLean extended Ontario Tech's lead with a goal at 6:56, assisted by William Robinson and Suriyuth.
However, Brock came back in the third period with two quick goals, first by Cole Tymkin at 14:35 and then Jonah Boria at 15:16, tying the game.
The match remained scoreless through overtime, forcing a shootout. Ontario Tech couldn't find the net, while Brock's Riley Gannon sealed the win for the Badgers, breaking the Ridgebacks' hopes for a victory in front of the 130 attendees at the Ontario Tech rink.
The Ridgebacks will have a quick turn around with their next game taking place at the Campus Ice Centre on Sunday, November 17 against the Queen's Gaels.
