Ontario Tech tops McGill 3–2 in Montreal
MONTREAL, Que. — Ishan Mittoo scored twice and added an assist as the Ontario Tech men's hockey team earned a 3–2 road win over McGill on Saturday, January 10.
Mittoo opened the scoring at 4:56 of the first period, finishing a passing play from Gabriel Bernier and Nolan Ford to give the Ridgebacks a 1–0 lead after 20 minutes. Ontario Tech extended the advantage midway through the second period when Mittoo struck again at 13:04, converting feeds from Kyloe Ellis and Ford.
McGill answered later in the frame, with Charles-Antoine Dumont cutting the deficit to one at 15:35, but the Ridgebacks carried a 2–1 lead into the third.
The Redbirds tied the game early in the final period on a power-play goal from Mathis Gauthier at 4:37. Ontario Tech responded just under eight minutes later, as Bernier netted the eventual game-winner at 12:28, finishing a setup from Mittoo and Jeremy Michaud.
Beckett Langkow made 30 saves to earn the win in goal, turning aside key chances late as McGill pushed for the equalizer.
