Ridgebacks bolster forward group with Brayden Degelas
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks men's hockey team has added another offensive piece for the future with the commitment of forward Brayden Degelas.
Hailing from Blenheim, Ont., Degelas joins the Ridgebacks following a productive junior career, most recently with the Leamington Flyers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
"Brayden is a skilled forward with some good size who will be a welcome addition to our lineup," said Ridgebacks Head Coach Curtis Hodgins. "He sees the ice very well and is a smart player with some nice offensive instincts. He has been a big part of a very good Leamington team over the last few years and we look forward to welcoming him to campus this Fall."
Degelas continued to elevate his game throughout his junior career, highlighted by a breakout 2024–25 campaign where he recorded 50 points in 54 games with Leamington. He followed that up with another strong season in 2025–26, posting 56 points in 56 games and adding 13 points in 10 playoff contests.
Prior to joining the Flyers, Degelas spent time in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League, including stops with the Sarnia Legionnaires and Chatham Maroons, where he steadily developed into a reliable offensive contributor.
"I am very excited for Brayden and how far he has come in his three years in Leamington," said Flyers general manager and head coach Dale Mitchell. "He is someone who can produce and make plays at a high level and I'm excited for him to continue his education and playing career."
