Ridgebacks rally from two-goal deficit to edge Stingers 4–3

The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks showed grit and resilience on Saturday night, rallying from an early deficit to defeat the Concordia Stingers 4–3 in OUA men's hockey action.

MONTREAL, Que. –  The Ontario Tech men's hockey team showed grit and resilience on Saturday night, rallying from an early deficit to defeat the Concordia Stingers 4–3 in OUA men's hockey action.

Concordia jumped out to a 2–0 lead just five minutes into the opening period, putting the Ridgebacks on their heels early. However, Ontario Tech responded midway through the frame when Ludovic Dufort found the back of the net to cut the deficit in half.

The Stingers restored their two-goal cushion late in the second period, but the Ridgebacks answered again on the power play, as Gabriel Bernier buried a shot to make it 3–2 heading into the final frame.

Ontario Tech carried that momentum into the third, striking twice in quick succession around the midway mark. Charles Marquis tied the game before Alex Papaspyropoulos scored the eventual game-winner to give the Ridgebacks their first lead of the night.

Goaltender Edouard Gauthier was outstanding, making 33 saves — including several key stops during a tense final two minutes when the Ridgebacks were down a man and Concordia pulled their goalie for a 6-on-4 advantage.
