Men's hockey open 2025-26 class with addition of Marquis

The Ontario Tech men's hockey team is opening their 2025-26 recruiting class with the addition of forward Zach Marquis from the Turo Bearcats.

OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's hockey team is opening their 2025-26 recruiting class with the addition of forward Zach Marquis from the Turo Bearcats.

"Committing to Ontario Tech is a great opportunity for me to study at a great university while also playing the sport I love," said Marquis.

Marquis joined the QJMHL in 2021-22 as a member of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, where he appeared in 43 games, including two playoff games as a first-year player. He joined the Québec Remparts for the next two years. He continued to progress as a player, appearing in 43 games with five goals and nine assists in 2022-23, helping the Remparts secure the QMJHL Championship and the prestigious Memorial Cup.

"We are thrilled to see Zach continue his hockey journey at a great school in Ontario Tech. Zach has been a tremendous player and leader since arriving in Truro, and his game is still growing," said Bearcats Head Coach Jon Greenwood.

In 2023-24, Marquis finished his time with the Remparts with 56 games, 13 goals, and 10 assists. Marquis set career highs this year when he joined the MJAHL's Turo Bearcats. He currently has 25 goals and 26 assists in 44 games with the team.

"We are thrilled to welcome Zach as our first recruit for the 2025-26 season. Zach is a complete player that can play on both sides of the puck and has a nice skill set as well that will be a terrific addition to our offence," said Ontario Tech Head Coach Curtis Hodgins. "But the thing I like most about him is his outstanding character and personality that will fit perfectly within the culture of our program. Looking forward to welcoming him to campus in September."
