Ridgebacks pick up 88-78 win over McMaster to tip-off season
HAMILTON, Ont. – The Ridgebacks men's basketball program started the regular season with an 88-78 win over the McMaster Marauders on the road.
Both teams played an aggressive first half, each taking turns with the lead. The Ridgebacks pulled forward at halftime with a dunk each from Keon Baker (Pickering, Ont.) and Raeshaun Ambris (Whitby. Ont.) to put them up by 7.
In the 3rd quarter, they separated the teams and saw the Ridgebacks build a 12-point lead with assertive defense and scoring from 7 players.
Ontario Tech maintained their lead through a physical 4th quarter. Baker led the team in points with 23, followed by Zubair Seyed (Cambridge, Ont.) with 15 and Ambris with 12.
The Ridgebacks are back in action on Sunday, October 27, facing the York Lions on the road.
