Historic night from Baker powers Ridgebacks past Carleton
OTTAWA, Ont. – Keon Baker delivered a historic performance on Saturday, January 10, scoring a program-record 42 points to lead the Ontario Tech men's basketball team to a 67–59 road win over Carleton at the Ravens' Nest.
Baker shot 12-for-22 from the field, knocked down five three-pointers, and went 13-for-15 at the free-throw line in 35 minutes to set a new single-game scoring standard for the Ridgebacks.
Ontario Tech led 17–16 after the opening quarter and trailed by three at halftime before a strong third quarter shifted momentum. The Ridgebacks forced 17 Carleton turnovers and converted them into 21 points, helping them pull away late.
Emmanuel Okonkwo finished with 10 points, while Tombe Pitia and Mark Stoop provided key contributions on the glass as Ontario Tech battled throughout the contest.
The Ridgebacks return home to the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre for Academic Excellence Night on Friday, January 16, when they host the York Lions at 8 p.m.
