Laurier defeat Ridgebacks 64-63
WATERLOO, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks fell to the Laurier Golden Hawks with a final score of 64-63 on Friday night.
Ayub Nurhussien led the Ontario Tech basketball team with a standout performance in rebounding, securing a total of 11 rebounds, including 9 defensive boards.
Zubair Seyed was a key offensive contributor, scoring 15 points and leading the team in steals with five and assists with five.
Jesse Okeke also made a significant impact, tallying 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field and recording two blocks.
Caleb Kassa contributed with a solid all-around game, collecting 7 rebounds and scoring 8 points.
Despite the contributions, the Ridgebacks struggled to find an offensive game in the fourth quarter, and scored just 11 points while Laurier surged for 21 points in the fourth behind 30 points from Taye Donald.
The Ridgebacks will get a chance to bounce back quickly when they take on the Waterloo Warriors tomorrow at 8 p.m. in Waterloo.
