Ridgebacks fall to Voyageurs on the road
SUDBURY, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's soccer program picked up their second loss of the season after falling 2-1 to the Laurentian Voyageurs in Sudbury.
The Voyageurs stuck early, with a sixth-minute goal from Blake Rosener, assisted by Joseph Martins. The Ridgebacks would begin to battle back, peppering Nate Shull with 11 shots on net. Erion Metaj (Whitby, Ont.) would find an equalizer six minutes later with help from Koby Greaves (Victoria, B.C.).
The score remained tied through the half, as both teams looked to break through, but a penalty kick from Laurentian's Nicolas Patenaude put the Voyageurs up in the 77th minute.
With the loss, the Ridgebacks fall to 2-2-1 on the season and will look to rebound into form when they take on the Nipissing Lakers tomorrow afternoon in North Bay.
