YMCA partnership winds down for winter semester
OSHAWA, Ont. – The highly successful pilot program that saw Ontario Tech University and Oshawa YMCA team up to get the downtown campus active is coming to end this week.
The partnership saw over 1,000 Faculty of Social Science and Humanities and Education students at Ontario Tech gain access to the Oshawa YMCA and utilize of their incredible facility that included a strength training zone, a cardio zone, a sports gymnasium, a running track, and a 25-meter pool.
"This was an incredibly successful initiative that gave downtown students easy access to state-of-the-art facilities," said Ridgebacks Athletic Director Scott Barker. "The students took full advantage of it and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out."
The partnership is expected to return next fall semester.
