OSHAWA, Ont. – Erin Lawless of women's hockey and Zubair Seyed of men's baksteball have been named Ontario Tech athletes of the week for the period ending on February 16.

On February 14, Zubair Seyed led his team in points against the Ottawa Gee Gee's, scoring 23 points. The following day he drove the team to a 71-61  victory against Carleton scoring 22 points.  Seyed is currently fourth in the OUA with 19.3 points per game and fifth with a total of 367 points. The Ontario Tech men's basketball team will be headed to St. Catharines to face the Brock Badgers in the first round of playoffs on February 19th.
 
Erin Lawless scored the game winning goal and also her first ever OUA goal against the Ottawa Gee Gee's on February 15. This set the tone for her team as they went on to win the game 4-1. She was also major contributor on the penalty kill, helping kill off a five on three penalty.
