OSHAWA, Ont. – Ayub Nurhussien of men's basketball has been named Ontario Tech athlete of the week for the period ending on Sunday, February 23.

Nurhussien played a major role in the Ridgebacks upset of the Lakehead Thunderwolves in the quarterfinal of the OUA men's basketball playoffs, scoring 25 points and adding three assists and three rebounds. He also posted nine points and six rebounds in the defensive battle in the opening round of the playoffs where the Ridgebacks defeated Brock 52-44.

The Ridgebacks will be back in action this weekend when they head to Kingston on Saturday, March 1 for the semifinal round of the men's basketball playoffs. The game tips off at 3 p.m. and can be viewed on OUA.tv.
