Ridgebacks' offense soars past Ravens
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks triumphed over the Carleton Ravens in a high-scoring affair on Friday, securing a commanding 7–3 victory at Campus Ice Centre.
The Ridgebacks, led by an offensive surge in the second period, scored five goals, including two from Harrie Jones and one from Kayla Welk, who netted a hat trick by the game's conclusion.
Goaltender Zoe McGee was stellar between the pipes, recording 27 saves to limit Carleton's scoring opportunities. The Ridgebacks' special teams played a pivotal role, capitalizing on three power-play opportunities and adding a short-handed goal.
Despite Carleton's two power-play goals in the final frame, including an empty-net tally, Ontario Tech's dominance early on proved insurmountable. Cassandra Delves added a late power-play goal to seal the win.
The Ridgebacks will be back in action tomorrow night when the Toronto Varsity Blues come to the Campus Ice Centre.
