OSHAWA, Ont. – Ridgebacks men's basketball standout, Zubair Seyed, (Cambridge, Ont.) has been acknowledged as a member of the OUA Third Team All-Star after a terrific 2024-25 season.
Seyed played a pivotal role in the Ridgebacks up-and-down regular season, often being the steadying hand as the Ridgebacks won three of their last four games to secure their spot in the OUA playoffs. Seyed averaged 19.3 points per game which put him in fourth place across the OUA and he was also a workhorse for the Ridgebacks this season playing 35.5 minutes per game.
Seyed had numerous memorable games throughout the past season. These include the buzzer beater in Carleton in which he scored 21 points. He also had 31 points against Western, then the next day he went on to score 27 against Windsor.
"I am happy that Zubair is leaving the OUA on a high note, this recognition is overdue," said Ridgebacks head coach Deluxshan Pathmanathan. "He has helped build the Ontario Tech Men's basketball program into a household name these past two years. He is the ultimate competitor who doesn't step away from big moments. He has helped us build a culture that will live on for many years. I am extremely proud of his accomplishments this season."
