Ontario Tech drops Sunday contest to visiting Carleton

A slow start proved costly for the Ontario Tech men's basketball team on Sunday afternoon, as the Ridgebacks fell 72–53 to the Carleton Ravens at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.

OSHAWA, Ont.A slow start proved costly for the Ontario Tech men's basketball team on Sunday afternoon, as the Ridgebacks fell 72–53 to the Carleton Ravens at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.

Carleton opened the game on a 10–0 run and led wire to wire, taking an 18–8 lead after the first quarter and holding Ontario Tech to just 20 points in the first half. The Ridgebacks' best stretch came in the third quarter, where they put up 18 points and briefly cut into the deficit, but the Ravens responded with a 25-point fourth to close out the win.

Keon Baker once again paced the Ridgebacks with 21 points on 7-for-11 shooting, adding four rebounds. Jesse Okeke finished with 10 points and five boards, while TJ Richards added eight points, two assists and two steals. Ontario Tech also recorded five blocks and eight steals, highlighted by strong defensive efforts from Caleb Kassa and Tombe Pitia.

Carleton was led by Aubrey Dorey-Havens, who dropped a game-high 26 points along with eight assists. Marjok Okado added 18 points as the Ravens shot 54.5 per cent from three with 12 makes.
