OCAA Championship MVP Stoop joins men's basketball
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's basketball team is happy to announce the addition of Mark Stoop to the 2025-26 recruitment class.
The Oshawa, Ont. native formerly played for Durham Lords, where he became a fan favourite at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre for his highlight reel blocks and dunks. This past season, he was named the men's basketball "Ted Harrison" MVP and Durham College's Male Athlete of the Year. Stoop helped lead the team to an OCAA Championship gold medal and a silver medal at the CCAA Championship.
In the 2024-25 season, Stoop averaged 11 points, seven rebounds, and two assists per game and took home the CCAA All-Canadian Award, CCAA Championship Second-Team All-Star, OCAA Men's Basketball East Division Player of the Year, first-team all-star, and OCAA Championship MVP. Academically, Stoop graduated from the Durham Firefighting Pre-Service Education and Training program and earned OCAA All-Canadian Honors and CCAA Academic All-Canadian Award.
