Men's hockey add OJHL champion Ellis to 2025-26 recruiting class
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's hockey team is happy to announce the addition of defenceman Kyloe Ellis to the 2025-26 recruitment class.
"We are excited to add Kyloe to our defence group for the 2025-26 season," said head coach Curtis Hodgins. "He is a very mobile defender who skates and defends well but also sees the ice very well and makes a good first pass. Kyloe will be a great addition to our program, no doubt."
Ellis spent the last two years with the Trenton Golden Hawks of the Ontario Junior Hockey League. In 2023-24, he appeared in 54 games for the Golden Hawks, scoring five goals and notching 20 assists. The Brampton, Ont. native would appear in 20 playoff games that year, tallying one goal and nine assists.
He followed up the performance by appearing in 49 games for Trenton in 2024-25, scoring five goals and dishing 36 assists. In the postseason, he was a key contributor to the Golden Hawks winning the OJHL Championship, scoring two points and seven assists in the playoffs.
"We were fortunate to have Kyloe part of our program for two seasons," said Derick Smith, Trenton Golden Hawks Coach and GM. "He was a big part of our success both on and off the ice and in the community. Ky was a great leader, and we wish him the best as he starts his next chapter at Ontario Tech."
