Ontario Tech University will proudly celebrate the accomplishments of its newest graduates at Fall Convocation on Thursday, October 15.
For the university’s newest graduates, Convocation marks an important milestone and the beginning of a new chapter. As they join the university's growing alumni community, graduates leave Ontario Tech prepared to apply their knowledge and experiences wherever their next steps take them.
In addition to celebrating academic achievement, Convocation recognizes the people and experiences that have influenced each graduate’s journey. Graduates carry forward the curiosity, resilience and relationships developed during their time at Ontario Tech. Whether advancing technology, strengthening communities, improving lives or tackling complex challenges, graduates are prepared to contribute thoughtfully and responsibly to a prosperous and hopeful future.
This year’s ceremonies will also recognize two distinguished honorary degree recipients who have made service contributions in the areas of civic engagement, education, public service, technology and university governance:
-
Kevin Chan, Senior Director, Meta, for his exceptional contributions to technology, public policy and civic engagement, and his commitment to responsible innovation and public service.
-
Laura Elliott, school-board advisor and education-sector leader, for her distinguished contributions to education, public service and university governance, and her longstanding commitment to student success.
