Beckett lands on OUA All-Rookie team
OSHAWA, Ont. – Ontario Tech men's hockey standout Beckett Langkow has been named to the OUA East All-Rookie team following a breakout rookie season in net for the Ridgebacks.
Langkow was a vital presence between the pipes for Ontario Tech, logging 1005.30 minutes of ice time and starting 16 games out of 18 played. His season was highlighted by an impressive 2.445 goals-against average, placing him fifth overall in the OUA, along with a 0.917 save percentage, ranking seventh overall.
Langkow's contributions played a key role in the Ridgeback's success, as he recorded 453 saves while securing 11 wins and a 0.688 win percentage.
"It's a well-deserved honour for Beckett to be named to the OUA East All-Rookie team," said head coach Curtis Hodgins. "Coming off his final year in junior where he didn't play much due to injury, he came in here and did a great job right from day one and provided some real solid goaltending for us. Beckett works hard on a daily basis and is very professional in his preparation, and he was rewarded for those traits with a fantastic rookie season with our program."
Langkow's strong rookie campaign provided Ontario Tech with a reliable presence in the net. With his ability to play through high-pressure situations and make crucial saves, Langkow established himself as one of the league's top up-and-coming goaltenders.
