Men's soccer moves on to OUA semifinals after 5-2 road win
TORONTO, Ont. – For the second year in a row, the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks are back in the OUA men's soccer semifinals after a 5-2 victory over the Toronto Varsity Blues on Wednesday night.
Ontario Tech dominated the first half against Toronto, leading 3-0 by halftime. Alexander Irwin was instrumental, scoring twice, with assists from Koby Greaves and Matthew Keeler. Toronto struggled to capitalize on their opportunities, with multiple shots saved by Kevon Grant.
In the second half, The Ridgebacks extended their lead with goals from Erion Metaj and Alex Maadanian, bringing the score to 5-0 before Toronto responded.
The Ridgebacks will head back out on the road to take on the McMaster Marauders on Saturday on the road in the semifinals match up.
