Ridgebacks men's soccer start the season in top 10
OSHAWA, Ont. – For the second year in a row, the Ontario Tech men's soccer team is starting the season nationally ranked after placing ninth in the first U SPORT men's soccer top 10 of 2024.
The Ridgebacks took down the Queen's Gaels 2-1 in their season opener last Friday behind a goal from Ontario Tech athlete of the week, Kairo Coore (Whitby, Ont.), and a game-winner from Finn Bansal (London, Ont.). The Ridgebacks finished last season ranked 8th in the country.
Looking at the rest of the rankings, UBC leads the way in the No. 1 spot after a perfect start to the season, with CBU and Montreal trailing just behind.
The OUA currently has three other teams represented in the top 10, with Carleton, York, and TMU joining the Ridgebacks.
You can see the Ridgebacks in action this Friday, September 9, at 8:15 p.m. when they take on the Nipissing Lakers at Vaso's Field.
