Ridgebacks host second annual Carriage Cup at TCC
OSHAWA, Ont. – Ontario Tech hosted the second annual Carriage Cup at the Tribute Communities Centre on Thursday night, falling 3-1 to the TMU Bold.
The second itteration was bigger and better than ever with over 1,700 in attendance for the game presented by belairdirect.
Jackson Doherty struck first TMU Bold with a goal in the opening minutes of the game. The Ridgebacks would find their footing, and finally find a response in the second with Jeremy Michaud getting a goal with help from Ben Diamond and Duston Hutton. Daniil Grigorev would put the Bold back ahead in the third, and while the Ridgebacks fought hard to find an equlizer, TMU would seal the game with an empty net goal from Jaden Condotta with seconds left in the game.
Grigorev was named MVP of the game for the TMU Bold, while Beckett Langkow took home MVP honours for the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.
The Ridgebacks will head back out on the road this weekend with a stop in Kingston, Ont. to take on the RMC Paladins on Saturday, January 18.
