The Ridgebacks are excited to welcome fans back to the Tribute Communities Centre on January 16 for the second annual Carriage Cup! Come cheer on the men’s hockey team as they face off against Toronto Metropolitan Bold at 7 p.m.
We invite you to be a part of the excitement in downtown Oshawa and continue to build this new tradition. Come meet Hunter the Ridgeback, win awesome prizes and bring your Ridgeback spirit.
All proceeds from the second annual Carriage Cup will go towards supporting the Ontario Tech Adopt-a-Ridgeback program and the Student Relief Fund.

On Campus Student Pricing: $5 tickets will be sold in the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre, January 6 to 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Student Information:
Buses will be transporting students on a first come, first serve basis from South Village Residence to the Tribute Communities Centre. The bus will return to South Village Residence, with a stop at 2200 North as well, following the game.

The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks are proud to announce the second annual Carriage Cup game at the Tribute Communities Centre on January 16, 2025, against the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold. Tickets go on sale Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 10:00am and are available at tributecommunitiescentre.com and in person at the Tribute Communities Centre Ticket Office.
Carriage Cup came from a collaboration with the Ontario Tech Student Union (OTSU) and pays homage to the innovative and entrepreneurial history of automobile manufacturing in Oshawa. Our first year saw over 1,300 fans and we plan to grow this event even more this year.
"Our program is very excited to once again take the ice in January for the second edition of the Carriage Cup," said Ridgebacks head coach Curtis Hodgins. "Last year's event was a memorable game with a terrific atmosphere in the stands and a big win on the ice over the York Lions to capture the very first Carriage Cup trophy. With a new opponent this year in the TMU Bold, this game is sure to be another showcase for our community of the incredible quality of U SPORTS hockey. "
"Last year's Carriage Cup was one of the best events of the season and was an amazing opportunity for both our fans and student-athletes to experience everything the Tribute Communities Centre has to offer," said Ontario Tech Athletic Director Scott Barker. "It was a perfect start to a new yearly tradition, and we're excited to make this year even better."
In 2006, the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks were officially accepted into Ontario University Athletics unanimously, and Ontario Tech has been fostering student-athlete development ever since. The Ridgebacks honour more than 60 academic award winners every year and hold an average GPA of 3.0 or higher. This year, the Ridgebacks will be hosting their first national championship when the Bruce Power U SPORTS Men's Soccer Championship comes to Vaso's Field.
